Jerry Found a Job

It has been awhile since I have updated you all on Jerry's job search, but God has proven to be faithful, once AGAIN!!! He has taken a job for a company in Indy, YEA! It is a sales position and he will be traveling a lot, but we are thankful that God has allowed him this opportunity! We don't know how permanent it will be, but at least it will be bringing some income in our household. Thanks for keeping us in your prayers, we really appreciate it! We would like to say a BIG thank you to you Tony, for giving him this lead! We owe you some more babysitting or something : )

Valentines Without a Sweetheart

So what would your Valentines be without your sweetheart? Yesterday I decided to call my Dad and see how he was doing. After talking for awhile, he proceeded to tell me that "tonight was the Valentine's banquet at church". I told him I had wondered about that and wondered if they were having one again this year. You see, my Mom absolutely LOVED going to the Valentine's banquet every year! She would get so excited and she always made sure to call us and tell us that her and Dad were going. Dad kind of sat in silence for awhile and then he said, "I thought about how much Mom loved going to it and thought about going... but since I have no sweetheart to take to the banquet this year, I decided I would kind of feel out of place by going". As the huge lump in my throat slowly passed, I thought to myself, "I'm SO sorry you have no sweetheart this year to take with you to the banquet Dad, I know Mom would have loved to go with you"! It is hard for me to imagine Valentines without a sweetheart, but I REALLY can't imagine having a sweetheart for 55 years or more and then him or her being gone in an instant. These are the times in my life I want to sit and cry the whole day through, but then I realize I wouldn't be doing anyone any good, so why bother. I instead decided to make the kids a special Valentine's brunch; Blueberry French Toast with fresh Blueberry topping, Maple flavored Sausage links and yummy hot chocolate. I then decided to kiss all my Valentine's (my 3 little ones and my 1 big one) and thank God that I have them all for one more Valentines!

Happy Valentine's Day

Well tomorrow is officially Valentines, but my hubby brought home this beautiful bouquet for me, yesterday : ) It is full of pretty flowers and colors, thanks honey, I REALLY like them! Also yesterday, we finished up the kids Valentines for school and Kallee's Valentines for her little friends. Earlier in the week we did one of the "motherly duties" that I REALLY DO NOT enjoy doing---helping make Valentine boxes!!! Every year it is the same thing, "what do you want to make", I ask and they say "I don't know" and then they proceed to give me 10 different ideas that are not even possible, HA! Anyways, we ended up with a VERY simple "Football" box for Keegan, as he never wants to put much time or effort into one. Then there comes Talon...he is always wanting to put A LOT of time and effort into his, ugh! He come up with the idea of a barn/farm theme that ended up becoming the "Charlotte's' Web" farm, go figure, LOL! Anyways, they both turned out cute and I'm happy that job is over for another year. Hope you all have a Happy Valentine's Day tomorrow!

My Valentine bouquet w/ a lily, pink roses, red & pink carnations and white daises

It's beginning to look a lot like Valentines... for the past couple years we have given my niece and nephew and some of our friends, Valentine balloons. It is not expensive to do and kids always love getting balloons. This year we added a balloon for a "special someone" (E---- B------) from Talon : ) I do believe it is true love, LOL! Of course she couldn't stand him in kindergarten, but I think that has changed, at least for this week, HA!

Indy Home Show

Well today we went with some of our friends (Dave & Lynette) to the Indy Home Show. We planned on leaving at 10:00 and then decided to leave at 10:30 and by the time we actually left it was around 11:00'ish. We headed down 65 thinking that would be the quickest way, but...there was a semi that was carrying cars on it and somehow the cars came off the truck and caused an accident. After waiting like what seemed forever, we decided to crawl past both lanes of traffic to one of those turn-around places (ya know the ones that are marked "for Authorized Personnel ONLY) and turned around. We then took 47 to 421 and we were on our way. Our 45 minute trip turned into a 2 hour trip, thank the Lord for a full tank of gas and for safe traveling conditions there and back, for us at least. As we were on our way, we kept listening for road updates on the radio and some travelers weren't so lucky on 69, there were at least 3 deaths in one accident and there were at least 2 major accidents on that road : ( After arriving there, we had a nice relaxing day! With no kids (other than Jerry & Dave : ) who couldn't have a relaxing day?! Jerry and Dave wouldn't sign up for all the freebies, so Lynette and I decided they will be the sorry ones when we start winning all the "free kitchen makeovers, the free sun porches, free windows and gutters" and so on, HA! We kept saying "wouldn't that be something if we really DID win something"??? Of course we all signed up for the furniture from "the Home Show house", that would be AWESOME to win all of that. Just think, some lucky person will be the proud new owner off all that furniture. That would sure put a smile on my face. Thanks for inviting us to go, or was it us that invited you to go and you were the ones that got the tickets? HA! Anyways, we had a nice day and a lot of fun laughing (just think of the foam mattresses, LOL -- it is an inside joke, you had to be there)!
