Kallee wanted to take her little pom-pom in the polling place and I told her she could, but I told her she couldn't chant "Palin, Palin, Palin" like she has been all morning : )
Well today's the day, you get to do your part as an American and go VOTE!!! We went early thinking there wouldn't be a line, but we were wrong on that. We waited 40 minutes in line, but that's ok, that means people are doing what they are suppose to be doing! In the 8 1/2 years that we have lived in this house, we have NEVER had to wait, so that's a wonderful thing!!! One of the workers told me that 33% of the people in our precinct had voted as of 10:30 this morning, so that is wonderful! Now all we can do is keep praying! Our kids have been told "some things", by "some individuals" that have them scared half to death. We had a nice, long talk with them on the way home from church Sunday evening and told them WE HAVE NOTHING TO FEAR, for GOD IS ON OUR SIDE!!! That doesn't mean that we believe God won't allow Obama to "get in", but that means that we believe our Bibles when it says "God will NEVER leave us nor forsake us" (Hebrew 13:5)!!! We also told them, as Christians we have nothing to fear if we have asked Jesus to forgive us of your sins, God will take care of us...all the way to HEAVEN!!! Enough on that for now, just make sure you go VOTE, TODAY!!! I believe all polling places are open until 6:00 tonight and I also believe if you are inside the door by that time, they have to let you vote!
Ugh - some people need to learn to keep their mouths shut, especially around children. Keegan worries enough as it is!
ReplyDeleteAs does Janae (in reference to Michelle's comment :) Anyway, through clenched teeth to keep from puking and feeling faint, it was not fun but it’s done. I VOTED!! Had probably a 20 minute wait.
ReplyDeleteMaybe your kids encountered the same person/people Connor did. We had to try to explain abortion because he can't get it out of his head now, even though he doesn't completely understand. Tonight was our THIRD talk about it :( Every time we drive down the street, he's watching the yard signs and asking if the people who live there are voting for the bad man. Ugh! I could just cry...
