Happy Birthday Keegan

I would like to wish my "baby boy", Keegan a Happy 8th Birthday today! I can't hardly believe that 8 yrs. ago right now, we were enjoying a new born. He is such a special part of our family, we love him very much! He is our "shy guy", but he can throw a mean football : ) He is all boy, no sissy stuff when it comes to this kid, ha! We didn't have a party for him this year, I know, I know, we are awful parents for not having a spectacular birthday bash for him. He even got a used birthday gift. Oh my, what is this world coming to, no party AND a used gift, hee hee! He has been begging for a PS2 game that is college football, so... that is what we got him. I looked several places yesterday for one, but was told "PS2 are going out and we don't have those kind of games any more", ugh! Well now you all know it, we are a family that's "not in" : ) We stopped at Game Exchange last night on our way home from my sister's house and got not only 1, but 4 ('04, '05, '06 & '07) edtions of the PS2 college football, for (drumroll please) $11.00, YEA!!! We gave him 2 today and we'll give him another 2 for Christmas. Now that's some smart shopping! He also got a new pair of tennis shoes and some play-doh. We did take him to Arni's for his birthday and I have made him his favorite kind of cake (Starwberry Jell-o) that we will take to Mamaw & Papaw's house tomorrow for dinner. I know, once again, I'm a terrible Mama I opted not to spend $30 on one of those fancy cakes. I figure why waste the $$$ when we will enjoy the Jell-O cake just as well and we will gain the same amount of weight, HA! Anyways, I hope you had a great day little man, we love you!

Keegan requested that we got to the TPA Park on our way home, so since the B-day boy requested it...this is one of the new ones this year.

Oh so pretty, 1000's and 1000's of lights!

We all got a kick out of this "God Bless ICA" sign, ha! It is suppose to say "God Bless America"!

Happy Thanksgiving

We would like to wish you all a Happy Thanksgiving! We are headed to my sister's house, but we will return in a shortly. Hope you all don't eat to much turkey : ) Have a blessed Thanksgiving and remember to thank God for all His wonderful blessing!

My little pilgrims

Kallee and I went to the school yesterday to help serve Thanksgiving dinner to the staff and students and while we were there, she was allowed to go to class with Keegan. When leaving the school she proudly brought her pilgrim hat with her, that Mrs. Coleman helped her make. Thanks Mrs. Coleman for letting her come to class, she was one happy, little girl.

Happy Birthday Michelle

I would like to wish my friend Michelle (Hight) Krick a Happy Birthday today! She has been my friend for many years, close to 20 now. Wow, we must really be gettin' old girl, HA! She is one of those friends that I can consider a true friend, ya don't find many of those now days, sad to say! I don't have to worry about her "sharing our conversations" with someone else and we always start off where we left off, even if it has been weeks since we have last talked to one another! Hope you have a great birthday today, Michelle!

We had a great group of people that helped and we truly appreciate all of your dedicated service! Those of you that didn't help, well...let's just stop at that. For those of you that gave of your time for that past few days and weeks, THANKS SO MUCH!!! We Believe In GOD

This post is not being brought to offend any of you, so if you are easily offered, please go to another blog for your entertainment! --No we are NOT mad in the Cooper Household over Obama being elected as president, but we are concerned! We felt as if McCain/Palin would have done a better job for our country, but God did not see fit for that to happen. It is now our job as Christians first and Americans second, to PRAY FOR OUR PRESIDENT AND OUR COUNTRY!!!!! We did not fail to pray for President Bush, therefore, we should not fail to pray for Mr. Obama! We have had a couple upset children around this house lately, due to the fact that "some" people don't know how to control their thoughts or should I say tongue, but...we have tried VERY hard to help them understand what IS right and what IS wrong (on the issues that have been told to them, by these "people"). We have tried to take the negative talk and turn it into something positive. We have told them the following -- some of it may sound a little elementary to you, but this was for the benefit of our children!

1.) "we don't have to agree with Obama, but yet Mommy and Daddy don't always agree with each other"
2.) "it is VERY important to get your facts straight before spending fiction or gossip that you've heard from the news media"
3.) "as Christians God hears and answers our prayers; just not always like we want Him to"
4.) "Obama will NOT accomplish all the "things on his agenda" all by himself, he has others to that will be a part of it: Senate/House of Reps don't blame him for everything"
5.) "we MUST cling to what our Bibles tell us and that is "God will NEVER leave us nor forsake us"
6.) "we must trust God in EVERYTHING, because He has it all figured out"
7.) "God is not sitting up in Heaven wondering what to do next, He already knows what He has in store for us"
8.) "as Christians, as long as we have asked Jesus into our hearts and are listening to Him, we have NOTHING to worry about"
9.) "Obama is NOT going to go door to door and start killing babies, he just believes it is ok to give the Mommy the choice on what she wants to do with her baby, but...he is NOT the first president that has believed this way and he probably won't be the last"
10.)"we have NOTHING to fear, GOD IS STILL IN CONTROL"!!!!!!!!!!!

Please Christians, don't feel completely defeated, we ARE serving a God who is STILL in control! Like an African-American lady told me a few weeks ago "Mr. Obama is not getting my vote, but it IS our jobs as Christians to pray for him and pray that God can change his heart". We do still believe God changes hearts and lives don't we??? --I will leave you with this song that one of my friend's (Sara) posted on her blog, read the words, it is VERY fitting for us as Christians and Americans!

WE SHALL STAND

We wrestle not with flesh and blood, but the powers of all darkness;
We fight battles everyday; it seems they'll never end;
As this war rages endlessly, our hearts start to falter;
We cling until His Holy Word and know WE SHALL STAND.

We shall stand in the face of tribulation;
We shall stand when the battle rages hot;
We've placed our faith in the King who reigns forever;
Let us rejoice, for we know we shall stand.

When we've done all we can, therefore we stand and wait upon the Savior;
We've learned from experience to place our trust in Him;
And when we give Him full control, He cannot be defeated;
The battle's His; the victory's ours;
Praise God, we shall stand.

We shall stand in the face of tribulation;
We shall stand when the battle rages hot;
We've placed our faith in the King who reigns forever;
Let us rejoice, for we know we shall stand.

We ARE STILL "ONE NATION UNDER GOD"!!!

VOTE VOTE VOTE!!!

Kallee wanted to take her little pom-pom in the polling place and I told her she could, but I told her she couldn't chant "Palin, Palin, Palin" like she has been all morning : )

Well today's the day, you get to do your part as an American and go VOTE!!! We went early thinking there wouldn't be a line, but we were wrong on that. We waited 40 minutes in line, but that's ok, that means people are doing what they are suppose to be doing! In the 8 1/2 years that we have lived in this house, we have NEVER had to wait, so that's a wonderful thing!!! One of the workers told me that 33% of the people in our precinct had voted as of 10:30 this morning, so that is wonderful! Now all we can do is keep praying! Our kids have been told "some things", by "some individuals" that have them scared half to death. We had a nice, long talk with them on the way home from church Sunday evening and told them WE HAVE NOTHING TO FEAR, for GOD IS ON OUR SIDE!!! That doesn't mean that we believe God won't allow Obama to "get in", but that means that we believe our Bibles when it says "God will NEVER leave us nor forsake us" (Hebrew 13:5)!!! We also told them, as Christians we have nothing to fear if we have asked Jesus to forgive us of your sins, God will take care of us...all the way to HEAVEN!!! Enough on that for now, just make sure you go VOTE, TODAY!!! I believe all polling places are open until 6:00 tonight and I also believe if you are inside the door by that time, they have to let you vote!
