"Beauty and the Beast" Jr.

The Clinton Co. Youth Theater performed "Beauty and the Beast" Jr. for their summer performance. Talon had several roles; a Narrator, the Baker, the Bar Tender and a piece of Flatware. He has really enjoyed being in this one!!! He would come home from practice every day saying "Mom this is gonna be your favorite" : ) The cast did a GREAT job on this one and the singing was really good! Their director, Julie Miller, is so AWESOME, she really knows how to get the kids to do their best! We were able to attend the Family Nite on Wednesday night and then I was able to see bits and pieces of it, three other nights, since I helped with the refreshments and the selling of the "magical roses" and the DVD's. Each night I took several pictures and I ended up with over 200 of them, so...here are a few for you to enjoy. They are not in order, but at least you can see what went on.

This was the "bar scene", I know I shouldn't say this, but it was my favorite : ) The singing and dancing was great in it!

Kallee's Got the Chicken Pox

Well it's official, our baby girl has the Chicken Pox. She told me the other day that she had something behind her ear, as she scratched it, but I took a quick look and said "it's a mosquito bite". Then she told pointed to her lip and said "somethings on my lip", I took a look and said "I don't see anything." I truly couldn't see anything, but she could feel it coming on : ) She also showed me a spot on her bottom and I assumed it was one of those pesky red dots she gets if she wears her Pull-Up too long, but... My MIL watched the kids for me earlier this week and told me she had a slight fever and I thought maybe she wasn't over the UTI she had last week, so I thought I would be calling the doctor for another round of antibiotics. Needless to say, when I gave her a bath the other night and was combing her hair, I discovered those tiny, red dots all over her neck. I then proceeded to say "I know why you haven't been feeling well and I know what you got too -- Chicken Pox"! She of course had no idea what she was in for, but proudly announced to her brothers, (with a smile on her face) "I got the chicken pox boys"! Poor thing hasn't been in too much pain, but I've been giving her medicine for the fever and medicine for the itching and have been covering her with cream to help the itching as well. We've started on the oatmeal baths, which she loves, and I love that it relieves the itching. Anyways, had planned going to MI for Father's Day this weekend, but I don't want to take her and have her spread these nice, little things. Jerry has volunteered to stay home with her, but I'm afraid that when it comes down to it, that we won't end up going. Until later, take care and if you want your kids to have the Chicken Pox, send them on over, HA!
Poor thing, this was the best smile she could give me : (
These pictures were taken right after she broke out with them, so there have been many new ones appear since then.

This one was taken later in the week, they are starting to look better! I think I counted around 60 some on the back of her neck alone.

2009 Rotary Officer Installation Banquet

Tonight was the 2009 Rotary Officer Installation Banquet and since Jerry is the new President for the 2009-2010 year, we had to go. Not that we had to go, but that we wanted to go : ) He has been involved with our local Rotary Club for several years now, and thoroughly enjoys it! He has met a lot of great guys and gals while being involved with this group and because of that, he had made some friends for life! He was the Vice President for the term of, 2008-2009 and will take the President's seat in July of this year. I am not up on all this "stuff" but I try to do my part and support him when it comes to these types of things. I know he will do a very good job in this position and will go at it with his whole heart! I would like to wish him the best of luck with this new position! Please note: Most of the pictures turned out poorly because I didn't take my nice camera with me, therefore this is all I got, grrr!

Current President Doug Montgomery awarding Jerry for being the VP for Rotary

The Dist. Governor, Judy Hollander, swearing Jerry into his leadership position.

Jerry and the other new officers and board members getting ready to take their oath!

These guys were the entertainment for the night, they are a barbershop quartet from Lafayette, and they are called "Sound Sensations". They were REALLY good, we enjoyed hearing them!

This was an optional black tie affair,
so he would like to thank his friend Richard for the use of this tux!

Fun with Meg & LaMorris

Last weekend we went to IL to see my niece, Megan and her hubby LaMorris. Since they are due for their baby boy in a few weeks (July 4th) we decided to deliver the baby items we told them they could borrow. We hope to never need those items again, so... we are happy to loan them out : ) Anyways, we thought we would go up earlier in the day on Friday because we knew we had to head back home on Saturday. We didn't do much, but it was nice to just relax and enjoy our time with them. During the day Jerry put together some baby furniture while Meg, the kids and I went on a walk. They have a pond, a gazebo and a bridge all within a few feet from their house, so we enjoyed an afternoon stroll. They have the most beautiful trails directly behind their apartment, which leads to a really nice park. When we headed into the park, we noticed a lot going on. Meg said they were having some re-enactment thingy going on, on Saturday and Sunday. It was neat to see all the re-enactors setting up camp and watching the place "come to life". After time at the park, we headed home to make supper and then us girls stayed home and helped re-arrange the baby's room and watched a movie. The boys went with LaMorris to Olivet, they were having a recreation night for the freshman orientation for the '09-'10 school year. LaMorris is a student recruiter for Olivet Nazrene University so that event was part of his job. They had fun playing all kinds of games and eating with approx. 200 kids. On Saturday we had breakfast and then headed to the park next door for the festivities. We thought it was gonna cost us $10 for our entire family, which we thought was an awesome deal, but since we walked in the back way, we didn't end up paying anything, which was even more AWESOMER, LOL! We really enjoyed taking a stroll through the 1700's and seeing what life was like "back then"! We didn't stay for the battle, which was scheduled for 4:00, which was a bummer, but we would have gotten us home pretty late if we would have stayed. All in all, we had a really nice time, thanks Meg & LaMorris for having us, we really enjoyed ourselves! Next time we will be coming to meet little Mr. Kai, we can't wait to see him and love on him : ) Love ya guys!

Checking out the bridge

Eating supper, yummy

Meg & Kallee showing off their "bellies" :)
This is the back entrance to the park where we snuck in for free : )
This little guy was SO cute dressed in his clothes!
We saw these all over the place, pretty neat
Two, not so little, Indian boys wearing traditional Indian attire of the 1700's. They sure didn't have much on, but...at least they were covered.
Daddy & Kallee heading into camp

Jerry and the kids listening to what this guy has to tell them about what life was like back then

A group of people finishing up their lunch, notice the ladies at the right doing the dishes.
This guy was really nice, he explained all about this gun, how to start a fire without a match, and many other things. He was full of knowledge from this time era.

One group of troops getting ready for their duties!
It was close to lunch time when we got there, so this is what we found cookin' : ) It smelled so good, every where you went, there was food cooking over an open fire or people were washin' up their dinner dishes.
This was one of the clothing shops you could actually buy clothes at. Most all of them were
hand-sewn, so very neat and pretty, pretty expensive too. They had some beautiful clothing in there, all from that time era.
