Bus Convention - Part II

Here are some more ideas!

These are ideas from Sis. Sharonjoy Evans:

**"Red Alert" Be prayed up and prepared.
--You need to be totally prepared.
--Have what you are doing prepared and go for it.
--Keep things moving. If you leave gaps, they will fill them!

**Be waiting to greet them!
--Kids like to say hello and even give hugs to you. If you will talk quietly to them, it will have "some" calming effect.

**Prayer is a vital part of any service; especially Junior Church.
--Take this time to teach them proper behavior during prayer--sit still, close your eyes, fold your hands. It teaches them to be respectful because we are talking to Jesus.

**Don't be afraid to discipline.
--Teach them to behave in your class. Many of them don't know how. It is up to us to teach them.
--Use the children AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE!!!
--Let them hold the song sheets.
--USE song sheets, you don't always have the same kids, some are new and some have forgotten the words!!!
--Let them help act out, hold, be a part of the scripture.
--Let them help with the Bible story.

**Bible Story
--Act them out, make them come alive. Don't over dramatize but make it interesting.
DO NOT READ anymore than you must, keep eye contact with them as much as possible!

**Themes
--Keep the theme displays simple, but colorful and attractive! She uses them for 8-10 weeks, it helps the kids to understand them more.

**Games
--Work your scripture into your games, it will help them learn them and keep them in their hearts and minds.

I have a TON of game ideas, so if you would like any, let me know and I can make you a copy or email them to you! Hope this portion has given you some ideas!
